Do We Need A Club Website? Part Three

Club websites come in many types and sizes but tend to have similar needs in terms of the type of pages and functions they include.

Home Page

The home page is generally the first introduction people have to a club. It usually has information on the club, membership details, latest news, details of monthly meetings and upcoming events.

About Us

The About or About Us page usually includes a more detailed club history, membership information, committee member list with contact information and a list of club awards.

Event Calendar

The Events Calendar lists all the clubs events with entry forms. It may also include local events attended by the club.

Gallery

A Photo Gallery is usually a popular part of a club website. It can contain multiple galleries with photos of members’ vehicles, AGMs and events attended.

Articles

Articles provide an overview of the club and can record the club history through event reports, restoration reports, technical information and advice.

Classified Section

The Classified Section include items for sale, including club merchandise, and a list of items which club members wish to source (parts, manuals, etc.).

Store

The store enables the club to take membership fees and sell products such as club merchandise online. It includes a Shopping Cart and Payment Portal.

Newsletter

Some clubs add their newsletters to their websites; others prefer to keep them for their members only but will include a sample newsletter for prospective members to read.

Contact Form

The contact page provides a way for people to get in touch with the club. It can range from a basic email link to a form.

Links

Many club websites include information and links to sponsors, useful information and services.

Downloads

Event and membership applications forms can be added to the website for downloading by members. These are usually either word documents or pdfs.
